Web Design: Detroit Historical Museum

The Story: The Detroit Historical Museum is a place full of character and color, which their current website was lacking. The design approach taken created an aesthetic balance between nostalgia and the grid-based layout used to inform its audience of the rich history and important details of current exhibitions offered.

Objective: Redesign the website for the Detroit Historical Museum, making proper use of informational hierarchy to best optimize user experience.

Long, scrolling pages, hover states, and slideshow animations were used to encourage interactivity with the website and visually engage and guide the viewer between images, events, and pages. This project included design and prototyping of both mobile and desktop versions.
